Float For A While.

Sometimes, in motherhood,
it feels like you are drowning.

The constant noise.
The endless mess.
The ache of worrying too much, too often.

Maybe you are touched out by 10am,
already threadbare.

Maybe your voice has risen louder than you meant.
Maybe you wonder how you became someone
who feels so lost inside her own life.

There is no training for this.
No manual for the aching beauty and heaviness of it all.

Only the world,
watching,
judging,
asking you to be more,
do more,
smile more.

And so, some days,
the current will pull too strong.
And you will be too tired to swim.

Some days,
you will need to stop fighting the tide.

You will need to find something, anything,
that lets you float.

A quiet walk beneath open skies.
A phone call to a voice that knows you.
A few deep breaths in a darkened room,
where no one is asking for anything.
The courage to say, "I need help."
The softness of letting someone hold your story for a while.

You are not meant to swim every moment.

Some days,
you survive by floating.

By letting the water carry you
until you are ready to swim again.

And you will be.
You will be.
